Terms of Use

Welcome to Bob University, operated by The Bob Company ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our mobile application and website at app.thebobcompany.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

2. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

The Service offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) through our payment processor, Stripe.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the end of the current billing period.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app. Access to paid content continues until the end of your current billing period.
• Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@thebobcompany.com for refund requests.
• We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before any price change takes effect.

4. One-Time Purchases

Certain features such as certifications and event registrations may require a one-time purchase. These purchases are non-refundable unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase or required by applicable law.

5. Content & Intellectual Property

All educational content, videos, images, text, and materials available through the Service are owned by The Bob Company or its licensors and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

• Your subscription grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access content for personal, professional development purposes only.
• You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publicly display, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our prior written consent.
• Screen recording, downloading, or redistributing video content is strictly prohibited.

6. Certifications

Certifications earned through the Service represent completion of our educational program. They are issued at our discretion and may be revoked if obtained through fraudulent means. Certifications are not accredited by any governmental or regulatory body unless explicitly stated.

7. Community Guidelines

When using community features (posts, comments, profiles), you agree to:

• Be respectful and professional in all interactions
• Not post content that is offensive, harassing, or discriminatory
• Not share spam, misleading information, or unauthorized promotions
• Not impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that violate these guidelines without prior notice.

8. Stylist Directory

If you create a profile on the stylist directory, you are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. We do not endorse, verify, or guarantee the qualifications of any stylist listed in the directory. The directory is provided as a convenience and does not create any employment or agency relationship.

9. SMS Terms

SMS text messages from The Bob Company are optional. By entering your phone number and checking the SMS consent box, you agree to receive text messages from The Bob Company about certification updates, event reminders, payment alerts, and subscription status for Bob University. Message frequency varies up to 4 messages per month. Message and data rates may apply.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any text message or by changing your notification preferences in the app. Reply HELP for help or contact support@thebobcompany.com. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Bob Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. Educational content is for informational purposes and does not constitute professional licensing advice.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@thebobcompany.com. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts located in Utah.
